End of Term 1
Holiday Homework
Congratulations! ‘Today is your day, your off to
great places, you’re off and away!’
You’ve had a busy first term at school and have earned
a good holiday!!
I’m only setting a small amount of homework
because I believe you all deserve a good break!
Seed Collection!
You have
taken home your seed book. I would like you to collect a minimum of 7 items to
go into your seed book. The more the better! Seeds can include photos, ticket
stubs, and leaflets of places you have visited.
You will have
the chance to write about one of your seeds in the first week back at school.
Maths
Keep working
on your basic facts at home. It would be good if you have learnt one group of
times tables (for example your 3 x up to 10) by the time you come back to
school. Look back at your Green for Growth on your Goal Setting Form to remind
you of your maths goal. You can use Prototec, maths drills on study ladder, or
any other fun games you know to practise.
Reading
Keep up your
reading over the holidays. Remember, our aim is to read at least 10 minutes a
day. You can read to a family member, your pet (!), or even a toy. It’s also
really helpful to have someone read to you, and then discuss what you have
read.
Inquiry - This is optional but fun!
Follow the
link below to a website where you can make your own timeline!
You can work
with someone in your family to make a timeline for your family. This could be
over a long period of time (for example over 20 years) or for your lifetime (so
from 2007/2008 until 2016). Put on events that are interesting to you. You can
then email this to me or print it out to share with the class.
Happy holidays everyone!
